The Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana), established by the Chartered Accountants Act, 1963, (Act 170), regulates the practice of the accountancy profession in the country. The Institute, a member of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), is enjoined to ensure that audit firms which perform auditing and assurance services comply with the International Standard on Quality Control 1 (ISQC 1) under SMO 1 of IFAC.

Job Description

The Institute is in the process of developing a Quality Assurance Review System which scope will include all statutory audits and other professional services delivered by its members.

Consequently the Institute has vacancy for the position of Audit Managers and invites applications from qualified candidates.

Responsibilities:
The Audit Manager reports directly to the Head of Audit Quality Monitoring Team and shall perform all relevant functions as directed by the Head including the following:

• Organising sensitization and orientation programmes to educate practitioners on the review process;
• Preparing quality assurance review programmes to facilitate the process;
• Conducting quality assurance review;
• Communicating quality assurance review team's conclusions to the member;
• Preparing quality assurance review report;
• Recommending remedial actions/or sanctions as appropriate; and
• Conducting follow-up to ensure recommendations have been properly implemented

Required Skills or Experience

• A Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants-Ghana
• A qualified accountant who has worked in a practising firm with not less than 5 years post-qualification experience in statutory audit or a qualified accountant who has worked in a practising firm for more than 8 years, two years of which should be post-qualification experience in a statutory audit
• Experience in leading an Audit Team
• Excellent Reporting Skills
• Excellent Computer Skills (especially Microsoft Office Suite)
