The Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana), established by the Chartered Accountants Act, 1963, (Act 170), regulates the practice of the accountancy profession in the country. The Institute, a member of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), is enjoined to ensure that audit firms which perform auditing and assurance services comply with the International Standard on Quality Control 1 (ISQC 1) under SMO 1 of IFAC.

Job Description

The Institute is in the process of developing a Quality Assurance Review System which scope will include all statutory audits and other professional services delivered by its members.

The Institute also has a vacancy for an ICT Manager. The person shall be an IT/IS professional with appreciable technical and managerial experience. The job holder shall advise the Institute on strategic direction of ICT. In addition, the person shall be responsible for the installation, deployment and effective use of all ICT infrastructure and projects as well as systems and networks administration.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Undertake periodic ICT needs assessment and prepare ICT training and development plan;
• Advise the Institute on all ICT issues;
• Maintain and secure all networks, databases, and applications;
• Manage the Institute's email/Internet/intranet/website/LAN infrastructure;
• Install, configure, and deploy PCs, networks, printers etc;
• Ensure systems and software are kept-to-date;
• Troubleshoot and resolve network, hardware, database and software problems;
• Perform backups of systems and data;
• Facilitate and maintain good working relationship with other departments of the Institute;
• Take up any other ICT job that will be required from time to time

Required Skills or Experience

• Bachelor's Degree/Equivalent in ICT related field with 5 years working experience or Master's Degree in ICT related field with 3 years working experience
• Professional ICT Certification with recognized body is desirable
• Appreciable knowledge in Internet, Intranet and Website support
• Appreciable knowledge in Windows Server 2008/2010
• Appreciable knowledge in Relational Database Administration
• Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting and maintenance experience
• Interpersonal skills and team player
• Leadership and strategic management skills
• Working experience in academic/professional institution is an added advantage
