Job Description

As a lawyer working under the Head of Legal of a conglomerate you would be required to undertake a wide variety of legal duties including but not limited to:
  • To provide legal advice to the company on Human Resources, Environmental Management, Land Issues, Industrial Law, Insurance Claims, Overseas Purchases ,Etc.
  • To respond to all routine legal correspondences and enquiries and may represent the Head of Unit at various meetings,To draft and review legal documents, instrument and agreements between the company and its customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
  • To  ensure that  all legal/contractual agreements signed by the company and stakeholders are adhered to.
  • Represents the company in court.
  • Liaises and co-ordinates the work of the external legal counselors as and when necessary
  • To develop an effective record keeping system to safeguard all legal and confidential documents of all companies.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Degree in Law (LLB) plus professional qualification (BL)
  • At least five (5) years continuous experience as a legal practitioner
  • Knowledge of drafting of legal instruments.
Abilities, skills and competencies:
  • The person must possess good analytical skills, ability to use initiative and work as part of a team, ability to communicate complex legal advice, have good drafting and report writing and computer skills.
  • Must be a hands-on individual , must be able to stand on conviction.     
  • Must be willing to travel at short notice ,within/outside Ghana.
