• Perseus Mining is a dual listed (Australia, Toronto) gold miner and explorer focused on the West African region. 
• Perseus Mining (Ghana) Limited (PMGL) has recently commissioned the world-class Edikan gold project in the Western Region of Ghana. 
• Edikan Gold Mine (EGM) has a current mining reserve of 3.3M oz of gold from a resource base of 4.3M oz.
• The Edikan processing facility has been designed as a 5.5Mtpa processing facility with the ability to expand this to 7.9Mtpa in the future. The plant is capable of producing at a rate of 220-270,OOOoz gold per annum. 

Job Description

The Metallurgical Superintendent, reporting to the Processing Manager, will provide leadership and direction to the technical operations of the Processing Department at Perseus (Ghana) Limited, Edikan Gold Mine near Ayanfuri.

The responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:-

• Developing the standard site metallurgical testwork programmes required to ensure processing operations are provided accurate information relating to operational performance and guidance on how to improve performance;
• Ensuring metallurgical team deliver key technical information to all relevant stakeholders;
• Assisting in the development and execution of the processing budgeting process, both Operating and Capital expenditure;
• Identifying training needs offered by external services providers and put forward justification for inclusion of these into personal development plans for all technical staff;
• Contributing positively towards achieving and maintaining compliance with all technical aspects of the PMGL management standards;
• Leading the metallurgy team efforts to assist processing operations in cementing a safety culture within the processing group by ensuring all positive, forward looking safety initiative are completed by the technical team; and
• Developing system to ensure the processing facilities comply with Ghanaian Mining Regulations (2008) with particular focus/references to cyanide management 

Required Skills or Experience

• The successful applicant must possess a Degree in Metallurgy or its equivalent and 12 years of operational metallurgical experience, 3 years operating as Chief Metallurgist and operational experience in SAG Milling Circuits and CIL
• Exposure to formal management training, Sulphide Flotation experience and management of small to medium capital projects in Process Plant are necessary
