Job Description

The Role:
The successful candidate will be the custodian of the High Net Worth (HNW) & Insurance value proposition and customer base, by being the point of reference for an exclusive High Net Worth & Insurance portfolio (Bancassurance and Private Banking) in country. He/she will provide leadership to achieve the targeted growth and is accountable for the effective day-to-day running and overall performance of the business unit, in terms of generating external sales and revenue through the provision of sophisticated and holistic product offerings to High Net Worth clients - including the sale of insurance products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Have full accountability and responsibility for identifying, quantifying, and highlighting any significant issues and growing trends that have implications on the profitability of the High Net Worth & Insurance segment in country
  • Develop action plans to increase market share to desired level
  • Formulate, drive, measure and manage the sales performance strategy for the business
  • Lead projects relating to the offering of a superior Private Banking offering in country
  • Responsibility for sales ands service target setting, financial budgets, marketing spend and sponsorships as it relates to HNW & Insurance
  • Establish, monitor and manage service level agreements, service standards and turnaround times for the country in line with the HNW & Insurance value proposition
  • Continually assess the value propositions by understanding the unique needs of Private Banking customers, developing an extensive knowledge of competitor offerings and service propositions and keeping abreast of changing market dynamics
  • Ensure that the HNW & Insurance value' propositions are clearly communicated to all stakeholders and that, clients receive an efficient and superior service offering through effective implementation
  • Drive the implementation of the HNW & Insurance value proposition through direct and indirect teams
  • Ensure that all principles stipulated in the value proposition are met and adhered to consistently
  • Drive staff behaviour that result in the acquisition of new qualifying clients as well as the continual adding of value to existing clients

Required Skills or Experience

  • Minimum of first degree in a business related field. A master's degree will be an added advantage
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years corporate or retail banking experience with strong customer relationship management experience with some exposure to the affluent/high net worth market segments skills
  • Understands and effectively draws on the strength's of the team and its members
  • Innovative and challenging of the status quo
  • Strong verbal and written communication as well as negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills
  • Performs a coaching role within the team and client base
  • Lateral thinker with ability to conceptualize business matters
  • Ability to work under pressure and stay level headed and objective
  • Results-orientated. Ability to set goals and attain them
  • Proven leadership skills
