Job Description

URC is currently seeking a Health/Financial Management Advisor for an upcoming health project.

Principal Responsibilities
The Health/Financial Management Advisor will work within the Health Systems Strengthening team leading project activities that increase the availability, accessibility and appropriate use of health commodities for family planning (FP), maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH), nutrition, and malaria.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical leadership to strengthen management of regional and district  health systems with emphasis on planning,  programming activities, budgeting and financial management
  • In close collaboration with Ghana Health Service and other health partners, develop training of trainer modules to build capacity of regional and district financial management staff
  • Contribute to piloting of training modules and help improve and subsequently implement in project priority departments and health districts
  • Develop capacity building plan to roll out financial management training in all public and NGO sites supported by the project, building on careful assessment of financial management capacity across sites
  • Support structured improvement of performance and monitoring of results related to management systems for health

Required Skills or Experience

  • Advanced degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Health Policy, or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience working in a business environment with demonstrated operational experience and high level of responsibility and integrity
  • Knowledge and/or experience with public health programs in Ghana/developing countries
  • Demonstrated ability to work in teams
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel in-country
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, with excellent MS Word and Excel skills
