Job Description

SALES AND CONTRACT MANAGER

LOCATION: Accra

CATEGORY:  Sales/ Business development

Our client is a major player in the mining industry providing high value information to help customers to better manage risk and making mining safer. Currently established in Ghana, our client is looking to recruit a Sales and Contract Manager in Ghana to cover West Africa

ROLE PROFILE

Develop market growth of sales/lease and services of equipment for the defined territory. Responsible for identifying customer improvement requirements and R&D opportunities as well as market intelligence as part of the account management function.

Find and close opportunities and continue customer engagement post sales as an account management function.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and sustain relationship with key personnel from customer partnerships through extensive communication and site visits.
  • Work safely, and with regard to the safety of others, including
    • Compliance with all OH &S policies and procedures
    • Actively work to improve safety in the workplace
    • Identify and adopt a solution focussed technology partnership with all customers and ensure customers are kept aware of new advances in  technology and operational improvements
    • Sell company’s products and services, generating revenue
    • Develop and finalise contractual agreements with customers, and provide post sale follow up to ensure maximum need is being met through uptake of technology
    • Complete competitor data analysis and clarify differentiation potential within the market
    • Identify customer problems and clearly articulate the value proposition of company’s solutions to the key decision maker and other members involved in purchasing
    • Understand the internal purchasing and budgeting processes of the customer
    • Prepare proposal, contract document and finalise the deal
    • Maintain regular visits to sites in the defined territory
    • Conduct regular post-sale follow-ups and provide on-going technical advice
    • Generate additional leads through strategic clients, conferences/exhibitions, telephone/email enquiries, monitoring media reports, and industry networks
    • Build a customer base and nurture prospects towards sales
    • Create rapport and maintain credibility with all levels of  customers
    • Provide technical advice to current and potential customers on products and services
    • Communicate with General Manager to ensure maximum and timely market penetration
    • Develop and maintain sales reporting and forecast tool sets
    • Meet sales and lease targets
    • Communicate technical and operational improvements to the customers

EDUCATION

  • Master’s Degree preferably in  Geological or Geotechnical
  • 5-10 years of experience, demonstrated mechanical aptitude

EXPERIENCE

  • Sales experience for mining or technology industries
  • Strong experience in similar position and in a similar industry is an advantage

  • Good communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Computer literacy especially in MS Office is essential
  • Must be willing to travel more often
