Job Description
- The successful candidate will be required to assist the Librarian in overseeing all aspects of the operations of the Supreme Court Library including administration of strategic planning, collection, development and implementing new technologies.
- He/she would also be required to assist the Librarian in overseeing legal research and other services provided to the Library's users
Required Skills or Experience
- A good first Degree in Library science from a recognized university. A post graduate degree in relevant area would be an added advantage
- Computer literacy in MS Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint, Access
- Good oral and written communication and research skills
Minimum of five (5) years of library management experience with demonstrated competence in the following areas:
- Knowledge of various functions of a dynamic library operation, trend in library services in legal environments
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current issues and trends in General and Law librarianship
- Knowledge of and experience with the latest technological applications in libraries and their use to advance research and learning.
- Ability to integrate emerging technologies with available services
- Commitment to transforming the Judicial Service library into a more collaborative, active learning environment for the benefit of Judges, Lawyers and staff
- Ability to continuously seek quality service and process improvements in library services in order to support the vision and mission of the Judicial Service.
