Job Description

A premier garment manufacturer in Ghana is currently looking for a seasoned and dedicated Operations Manager to join its vibrant team.

Job Summary

This role is a manager with broad responsibilities that range from managing day-to-day operations to providing strategic advice. They oversee daily administrative and operational functions, reporting directly to the CEO.

Supervises: All unit Heads

Duties and Responsibilities

Operations

Oversees the day-to-day operations of all the Units, including finance, human resources, sales, production, and maintenance.

  • Designs, plans, and implements business strategies, plans, and procedures that align with the vision and goals of the organization.
  • Establishes and enforces operational policies and standards of organization.
  • Leads, manages and motivates Unit Heads and the rest of the staff.
  • Analyzes and interprets data and metrics to measure performance and efficiency.
  • Prepares and presents operational and management reports to the CEO and other stakeholders.

Compliance and Certifications

  • Maintain and improve upon organization’s Quality Management System and its Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure full compliance with organization’s Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2015).
  • Ensure general organizational compliance with standards specified by the following certification bodies i.e. SMETA and ISO 9001:2015.
  • Conduct periodic Internal compliance and Quality Management system audits.
  • Liaise with all departments to prepare for all certification and compliance audits.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Minimum of a good first degree in Operations Management, Business Administration or related field. A master’s in Business Administration will be an advantage.
  • 7-10 years’ work experience.

  • Experience in managing diverse team members.
  • A good appreciation of the manufacturing sector. 
  • Ability to relate effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good planning, time management and numeric skills.

  • Good communication, presentation, and reporting skills
  • Ability to work to tight schedules and deadlines.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
