Job Description

JOB FUNCTION
The head of Internal Audit is responsible for effectively leading the internal audit team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Lead or assist with the planning, design, and execution of internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, identify risks related to audit areas, determine compliance with policies, procedures and regulations, and make recommendations for improvement.
• Conduct effective interviews and perform observations to gather relevant information.
• Prepare detailed audit objectives, audit plan, audit programmes to support findings, and audit conclusions.
• Collect, review, and analyse audit evidence.
• Review and evaluate the work of others
• Develop more complex audit issue and strive to ensure that recommendations are viable and accepted by management.
• Prepare and submit audit reports periodically.
• Proactively communicate audit progress to the audit

Required Skills or Experience

• A degree in Social Science, Accounting or Finance from a reputable University or any other related discipline with ten (10) years professional experience.
• Have strong IT Skills and working knowledge in accounting packages

• Be a team player, a good negotiator, with demonstrated ability to motivate staff and encourage participation in decision-making process.
• Have a strong analytical, supervisory, interpersonal and communication skills.
