Ho Polytechnic, a fast growing public tertiary institution in the Volta Region, which has just been upgraded as a Technical University, is seeking to engage a dynamic person to lead the transformation of its Security Services to take care of the security
needs of the new Technical University.

Job Description

The Registrar:

  • Shall be the   Head of the Polytechnic administration and shall be under the general supervision and direction of the Rector, be responsible for the day to day management and administration of the affairs of the Polytechnic,
  • Is the Secretary to the Polytechnic Governing Council,
  • Shall in   consultation   with   the   Rector/Chairman   of  Council, arrange the business and cause to be recorded all meetings of the Polytechnic Council and allied committees,
  • Shall collaborate  closely  with  the  Ministry  of Education  and National Council for Tertiary Education in matters relating to the Polytechnic,
  • Shall liaise with Government, MDAs, tertiary education institutions, international bodies and development partners on matters relating to the advancement of Polytechnic,
  • Shall provide administrative and advisory services to the Rector and Polytechnic Management Committee, and ensure that the Polytechnic adheres to tertiary education policy directives, and
  • Shall coordinate training programmes for staff of the Registrar's Department and other senior managers of the Polytechnic.

Terms of Appointment:

  • The appointment, which is full-time shall be for FOUR (4) YEARS in the first instance and may be subject to renewal for another FOUR (4) years.
  • Salary and Condition of Service attached to the position are very attractive.

 

Required Skills or Experience

  • Must hold a Master Degree or equivalent qualification (PhD will be preferable and added advantage) in either Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Business Administration/ Management, Development Studies/ Law, Educational Administration, Organizational Development;
  • Must have at least five (5) years working experience as a Deputy Registrar in any tertiary institution;
  • Must not be more than   55 years;
  • Must have wide experience and knowledge in tertiary education administration and management;
  • Must have extensive knowledge of the tertiary education landscape in Ghana;
  • Must be aware of global trends and challenges in higher
  • Must be able to provide leadership and inspire confidence, as
  • well as, direct and motivate staff of the Polytechnic; and
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and must be a team player
