Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise security operations in all areas of the company;
  • Assist in the formulation and implementation of security policies and procedures;
  • Coordinate the protection of company property and maintain law and order;
  • Detect and prevent crime within the company and Institute measures to ensure that all persons entering or leaving any part of the mine are effectively screened and searched;
  • Liaise with the security contractor to manage the deployment of security guards to security beats on daily basis;
  • Ensure that movement of items from stores or any part of the mine is done in conformity with laid down procedure;
  • Arrest and authorize arrest of offenders on the Mine and liaise with local enforcement agencies on security matters;
  • Ensure the preparation and keeping of security records, events, and submits daily, weekly and monthly reports to the head of security;
  • Assist to periodically review security operations and present recommendations for improvement;
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by supervisor.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Minimum of GCE Advanced Level or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • Certificate in criminology will be an added advantage;
  • At least ten (10) years work experience in similar position or with previous service in the Military or Police services;
  • Exposure to modern assets protection techniques and procedures;
  • Strong presentation, organizational and communication skills;
  • Leadership experience and a strong desire to coach and develop others;
  • Ability to plan, coordinate and execute work plans;
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills;
  • Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving license and have the ability to drive in rough terrain;
  • Result-oriented.
