Background
The Cape Coast Teaching Hospital is an agency of the Ministry of Health responsible for tertiary health care delivery, medical education and research. The Board of the Hospital is seeking for qualified candidates to fill the following vacancy.

Job Description

Job Purpose:
To have overall responsibility for medicines management and ensure the maintenance of pharmaceutical standards through monitoring, teaching, research, policy development and implementation within the hospital

Functions

• Provide pharmaceutical advice to the Chief Executive Officer of the hospital.
• Be responsible  for  the  provision  of good  quality pharmaceutical services in the hospital.
• Submit periodic and timely reports on pharmaceutical activities within the hospital to the Chief Executive Officer.
• Ensure the establishment and effective functioning of Medicines and Therapeutic Committees in the hospitals.
• Undertake any other responsibility assigned by the CEO

Duration of Contract
All the positions are for 4 years contract period subject to renewal upon satisfactory work and conduct

NB: Interested persons who wish to apply for the positions must be on payroll of any of the agencies under the Ministry of Health

Required Skills or Experience

The Person must be a Senior Pharmacist and have the following:

• Degree in Pharmacy plus a relevant postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy
• Be a duly registered Pharmacist and have a minimum of ten (10) years working experience, of which FIVE (5) years should be at the level of Deputy Director of Pharmaceutical Services
• Evidence of leadership and continuing professional development and training in Health management
• A broad knowledge base and experience on Standards of Pharmaceutical Care, SOPs and guidelines.
