Job Description

  • Hours: Full-Time
  • Length of Contract: 3-month consultancy
  • Counterparts: Chief of Party; Deputy Chief of Party; other Systems for Health staff as appropriate
  • Location: Accra 

Consultancy Overview

The Knowledge Management Consultant will provide support to the USAID Systems for Health senior management team as the project accelerates Year 1 implementation. 

Specific Tasks:

Work in partnership with the Chief of Party and Deputy Chiefs of Party to:

  • Write and edit project reports and updates for a wide range of stakeholders
  • Identify staffing needs for the project’s ongoing communications and knowledge management functions
  • Implement the project’s electronic file structure and assist staff in using this file structure
  • Improve the design of this file structure, as necessary
  • Work with project’s three regional offices to develop and produce plans and reports and assist with Year 2 work planning
  • Coordinate with regional office staff to identify and develop program lessons, results and success stories for use in routine reports and knowledge management/communications

Deliverables

Weekly reports, which outline all activities completed during the reporting period. Due Friday of each week during the consultancy time period. 

Required Skills or Experience

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, International Development, Communications, Journalism or related field
  • A minimum of 3 years’ work experience required in communications, knowledge management and or global health
  • Demonstrated high-quality technical writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • High level proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Experience working with USG organization is an added advantage 

Skills

  • Ability and willingness to travel to regional offices
  • Ability to work under critical deadline pressures while maintaining high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong facilitation, interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and work well with diverse people.
