Job Description

  • Job Title:  Avionics Technician
  • Department: Flight Operations Department
  • Reports To:  Head Of Engineering

JOB PURPOSE

Fabricate per drawings and standard practices wire bundles and assemblies to include marking of wires, properly securing wires into bundles, and termination of wires into a variety of contacts and connectors.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Avionics technicians may assist in installing and servicing avionics communications equipment.
  • They ensure that newly installed systems and those that have been repaired meet requirements mandated by the aviation authority and specifications set by aircraft manufacturers.
  • They participate in purchasing, testing and calibrating avionic systems such as computer and electronic communication panels

He / She will be responsible for carrying out the following duties:

  • Maintain the aircraft in accordance with an approved Maintenance Schedule.
  • Ensure due maintenance is performed on all aircraft in a timely manner in order to meet the Flight Schedule.
  • Maintain continued Airworthiness across the fleet.
  • Ensure proper troubleshooting is carried out to justify all parts replacements.
  • Be proactive in working closely with the other employees to ensure smooth and safe operation of the Airline.
  • Ensure all mandatory occurrence, accident, incident and delay reports are filed as required.
  • Ensure a high level of safety standards are maintained within the immediate working area and within the organization.
  • Ensure proper tooling, calibrated equipment and work stands are used at all times without any mishandling.
  • Return all removed and unused parts, tools and equipment to stores with proper labelling and report any malfunctioning equipment.
  • Ensure all maintenance work are carried out under the supervision of a certified license engineer and recorded in accordance with the regulations.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Avionics or electronics experience preferred
  • Must be able to read and write English language 
  • A valid clear driver's license
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have 2 years’ experience in all phases of commercial transport aircraft
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, troubleshoot aircraft systems
  • Basic understanding of EASA / FAA regulations.
  • Able to work under pressure
  • High sense of responsibility
  • Motivation to perform a broad variety of tasks
