Job Description

Job Purpose: Responsible for transporting goods from the farm to the factory premises using heavy or tractor-trailer trucks.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver goods  to the factory while operating a tractor-trailer truck
• Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
• Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws.
• Inspect tractor before and after trips, and record any defects.
• Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
• Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
• Keep truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working condition.
• Get fruits or any other equipment to the factory on time.
• Transport hazardous materials
• Abide by health and safety at work regulations

Required Skills or Experience

• Operate a tractor with attachments
• Prepare a tractor for operation
• Maintain and repair equipment and machines
• Prepare equipment and machines for maintenance
• Must demonstrate good moral fitness and ethical standards
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
