Our client is one of the largest international Oil and Gas service companies that provide services to the drilling, evaluation, completion, production and intervention of oil and natural gas wells along with pipeline construction and commissioning who seek to add to their team the following roles:TRS JAM Technician Level 2

The Incumbent will be responsible for operating and maintaining torque turn units/power tongs in accordance with approved industry standards, quality procedures, safety guidelines and within the scope of the technician’s qualifications and competencies to ensure integrity of the client’s wells. 

Duties & responsibilities

• Operate torque turn units/power tongs within client’s time specification in compliance with Weatherford Tubular Running Service Competence Assurance System to maintain integrity of the client’s wells.
• Responsible for keeping maintenance and calibration records of all JAM equipment which is serviced/maintained
• Accept any reasonable base duties if so required
• Know and understand quality policy and comply with the IMS requirements, operating and technical procedures and work place instructions relating to his/her activities.
• Perform high quality maintenance on all JAM equipment as required and as specified by the Operations Supervisor, in an efficient and cost effective manner
• Cleaning and Inspection of all JAM equipment on the return to the JAM lab and assist with all planned repair work.
• Test JAM equipment thoroughly before it is released to Operations for Operational work according to function test programmes as specified by the Operations Manager.
• Maintain torque turn units/power tongs at work area within client’s time specification in compliance with our Tubular Running Service Competence Assurance System to allow equipment to be operational on location.
• Liaise and advise the our Supervisor (and client representative if applicable) on the integrity or condition of the client’s tubing/casing during operations in compliance with our Competence Assurance System  (Working Relationships) to allow client to decide on utilisation of equipment
• Accurately complete and maintain logs during operations in compliance with our Offshore Tubular Work Instructions (Section 3E) to evaluate work to allow continual improvement and for business information.
• Attend pre and post job briefings as instructed to ensure the communication of issues and information is facilitated.  Additionally, to attend industry and company training as instructed and required by Company, industry or clients.
• Operate torque turn units/power tong equipment within work originator’s time specification (Internal/External customers) in horizontal applications onshore, in accordance with approved industry standards, safety and quality procedures, legislation and within the scope of the technician’s qualifications and competencies to meet customer’s work requirements.
• Responsible to ensure that both QA and safety systems are applied and implemented.
• Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management within the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements, provided the instruction is reasonable and you are capable and deemed competent to fulfill these.

Required Skills or Experience

• 2 years experience as a JAM Level 1 Technician
• Up to 6 years’ experience  with the ability to communicate with peers and supervisors
• Ability to work in a highly safety sensitive environment and complying with both Company and Client safety standards
• Physically fit to work offshore in a manual capacity
