Job Description

A position is available for a Part-Time Accountant to perform basic level accounting activities. The incumbent will be responsible for posting accounts to the general ledger, processing bank reconciliation, tax reporting, and other general accounting duties. This position is 3 days/week for 8 hours/day but flexible with days and time.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Maintains Fixed Asset Register
  • Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
  • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  • Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Guides internal staff and management by coordinating activities and answering questions.
  • Secures financial information by completing data base backups.
  • Completes bank reconciliations.
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
  • Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
  • Complies with mandatory regulatory financial and legal requirements by advising on existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Manages the TCC process as needed.
  • Manages and maintains payroll accounting Monthly processing and payment of all taxes including PAYE, Income Taxes, SSNIT, VAT
  • Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Other accounting and finance task as directed by the client.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Maximum of 3 years’ working experience related field.
  • Proficiency in Excel spreadsheet.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Must be organized and able to multi-task.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and confidence.
  • The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
