Job Description

This opening is an outstanding opportunity for a rewarding career in managing high level sensitive projects.

EZ PAY is a Financial Monitoring and Payment Solutions provider with offices located in Accra. The General Manager will be responsible for sensitive government related projects. In addition to this s/he will be responsible for any other projects the company may embark on.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:

Plan the projects

  • Define the scope of the projects in collaboration with the CEO and /senior management
  • Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the projects
  • Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the projects
  • Develop a schedule for projects completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities
  • Review the project schedule with CEO and /senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the projects activities; revise the schedule as required
  • Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion

Manage the team

  • Manage project staff and/or team members according to the established policies and practices of the organization
  • Ensure that all project personnel receive an appropriate orientation to the organization and the project
  • Contract qualified consultants to work on the project as appropriate

Implement the project

  • Execute the projects according to the project plan
  • Develop forms and records to document project activities
  • Set up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured
  • Monitor the progress of the projects and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
  • Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project
  • Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards

Control the project

  • Write reports on the project for the CEO and/ management
  • Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures
  • Monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance to the CEO and/ senior management on a regular basis (monthly/bimonthly)
  • Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date
  • Prepare financial reports and supporting documentation for CEO.

Evaluate the project

  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
  • Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase

S/he must ensure the smooth running of the unit

Required Skills or Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Project Management experience required
  • Banking Experience Preferred
  • 5-10 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Must be able to network at all levels of the organization
  • Experience managing teams
  • Experience training and motivating teams to meet project deadlines

Managerial Competencies

  • Willing and able to travel throughout Ghana to provide support (If applicable).
  • Willing and able to frequently work in excess of 40 hours per work which may include before normal scheduled working hours, after normal scheduled working hours, and on weekends.
  • Willing and able to provide strong leadership skills, to be a self-starter, and to work independently.
  • Willing and able to multi-task and cope with high stress.
  • Ability to perform under pressure
  • Must possess good analytical skills
  • The abilities to manage different projects simultaneously, facilitate team meetings and motivate team members

Personal Competencies

  • Possesses integrity and high sense of confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Ability to think on one’s feet and quick response to issues that arise.
