Job Description

Our client a technology provider in the mining sector is currently seeking to hire a proactive individual to head their service centre.

 Role Profile

The successful candidate will represent the company in West Africa and ensure the day to day running of the service centre.

Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Providing Leadership of Western Africa Unit
  • Ensure compliance of company’s and local policies
  • Nexus for information flows within the company

 Financial

  • Offer sales and service responsibility for Central Africa, both capex and services
  • Ensure efficient use of resources and control cost
  • Service’s Business Area gross margin-% in the Territory

Customer Interface

  • Drive sales and service of the whole company’s offering (capex & services)
  • Responsible for customer relations management for sites in the unit
  • Managing the delivery of Service Business Area offering in the territory
  • Increase solutions focus and capabilities in unit
  • KAM- (Key Account Management) for selected national accounts
  • Develop market intelligence on customers, competitors and suppliers for unit
  • Implement Market Area strategy
  • Local installed base and its data management
  • Ensure customer satisfaction in the territory

 Other duties

  • Develop Central Africa strategy and targets with Market Area Management team
  • Include Services offering as part of capex projects with Services Business Area
  • Maintain and develop local sales and delivery resources and capabilities
  • Co-operation with all functions in the market area: Capex Sales Process and Capex Solution Delivery Process
  • Co-operation with Global Operations: operational model, roles, reporting, performance measuring, business processes, systems, supply chain development, item management, supply strategy and pricing policies
  • Co-operation with Service Product Centers: territory strategy, annual planning and budgeting
  • Enhance services Business Area (BA) market share in the territory
  • Service contract coverage (% of sites and % of equipment) in territory
  • Enhance customer visit rate (%) in territory
  • Enhance on-time delivery rate of order lines (%) in territory
  • Enhance stock turn ratio in territory
  • Ensure employee utilization engagement in territory and
  • Cooperation with Business Areas Legal compliance

Required Skills or Experience

Education/ Experience

  • Business Qualification
  • Engineering / Sales qualification will be an added advantage
  • Ten years or more (10+) experience in leading an organization or business unit
  • Sales Management experience
  • Proven track record of strategy formalization
  • Proven experience in leading and motivating teams
