Job Description

Duties and Functions

  • Daily supervision of branch operations
  • Regular verification of branch transactions and validation of branch financial status
  • General ledger Accounting
  • Petty Cash, Payables and Expense Accounting Process
  • Journal Entries, Accruals and prepayment
  • Bank Reconciliation
  • VAT / Withholding Tax / PAYE and other statutory returns
  • Month End Reporting including BOG prudential reports
  • Ability to conduct independent reviews and apply corrective measures
  • Transaction Auditing and ensuring compliance with internal controls
  • A lot of reconciliation experience will be needed.
  • Additional Duties as will be assigned.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity of Accounting Software applications
  • Ability to train and develop staff
  • 3 - 5 years experience in Microfinance operations or accounting
  • Role requires someone with knowledge of internal control and compliance in financial services sector.
