Job Description Applications are invited for appointment as Principal of Wesley College of Education, Kumasi. THE POSITION The College Principal is the Chief Academic, Administrative and Disciplinary Officer and in that capacity shall subject to the general direction of the College Council, or the policies that the Council may give: a. Ensure the implementation of decisions of Council b. Exercise general authority over staff and students of the College. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Principal of the College shall among other things perform the following duties: a. Admission of students b. Assignment of staff c. Discipline and supervision of staff and students d. Preparation of the annual estimates of income and expenditure (with the (assistance of the Finance Committee) for consideration by Council e. Provide the Council with returns, reports and other relevant information that may be required. Required Skills or Experience The applicant must: a. Have a relevant Master’s degree or PHD (Research-based Master’s degree is an added advantage) b. Be of the Rank not below Senior Lecturer in a university or Deputy Director in the Ghana Education Service minimum of two (2) years. c. Have relevant post-qualification of senior management experience with minimum of two (2) years. d. Have proven leadership skills and be a team player e.
