• The African Gifted Foundation Ghana (AGFG), a Ghanaian Registered educational charity (which is the wholly owned subsidiary of African Gifted Foundation (AGF), a UK registered charity), is launching a new International school, the African Science Academy.
• The school will be located in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.
• This new school brings together academically gifted young women from across Africa, for an intense 11-month pre-degree programme, leading to internationally respected 'A' level qualifications.
• Students will have completed their Senior High School certificate (WAEC and equivalent), before attending our school.

Job Description

Post to commence: June 2016, in preparation for the first enrolment of students in August 2016.

• AGFG is looking to appoint two well-qualified (a good degree from a reputable university), passionate and engaging teachers to teach Physics or Maths and Further Maths at A Level to highly motivated and academically talented pupils.
• An initial two-year contract is offered.
• The salary, benefits and terms of contract will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience sought in the candidate.

Required Skills or Experience

The ability to offer Maths/Physics as an additional subject would be a distinct advantage.

The following are essential:

• Passion for Maths and/or Physics;
• Teaching experience at secondary school level and beyond;
• Ability to think outside the box and able to come up with new teaching methods;
• Curriculum design and implementation to promote the vision and aims of the school;
• Planning learning: assessment plans, lesson plans;
• An innovative educationalist who recognises the central importance of teaching and learning;
• Ability to communicate, be inclusive and open-minded;
• Good ICT skills;
• Knowledge of new technology and its use in the classroom; and
• Culturally sensitive.
