Tetra Tech ARD (www.tetratechintdev.com) is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for the active West Africa Biodiversity and Climate Change (WA BiCC) programme. This is a five-year USAID-funded programme whose goal is to improve conservation and climate-resilient, low emission growth across West Africa.

West Africa Biodiversity and Climate Change Programme (WA BiCC) is funded by USAID West Africa and implemented by Tetra Tech ARD. The Program seeks to engage a Grant and Subcontract Manager who will oversee the administrative implementation of the project's Grants under Contract (GUC) and Subcontract activities under the supervision of the Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) for Operations and in collaboration with the Project's technical team, to ensure full compliance with USAID regulations and Tetra Tech ARD procedures and policies. The Grant and Subcontract Manager supervises a team of 2 Grant Specialists and builds the capacity of staff and grantees in grant/subcontract management and compliance.

Job Description

Background

  • West Africa Biodiversity and Climate Change Programme (WA BiCC) is funded by USAID West Africa and implemented by Tetra Tech ARD.
  • The Programme plans to recruit a full term Advisor who will be based with the Mano River Union (MRU) Secretariat in Freetown.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Secretariat to update and operationalise the Strategic plan in line with emerging realities and needs following a result- based management approach
  • Coordinate the various capacity building interventions and ensure the implementation of the Institutional Strengthening Plan (ISP)
  • Assist the design and deployment of a GIS and Communication Technologies Unit at the Mano River Union level

Required Skills or Experience

  • Master's degree in Geography, Environmental Sciences, Natural Resources Management, Forestry, Agronomy. Rural Development, Regional Planning, Land Use or another related field
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively increasing responsibility for designing. managing and implementing complex projects and development activities in fields relating to Natural Resource Management, Environment and Research
  • Experience using tools and technologies such as Tele-detection, remote sensing, Cartography, GIS and mobile technologies for decision making whilst specifically addressing environmental and climate change issues
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and French is required.
