Job Description

World Vision Ghana (WVG) is looking for a highly qualified, proactive, motivated and resourceful person to fill the position of Project Coordinator - Youth Sparks Project.

Youth Sparks Project
The role’s main responsibility is one of co-ordination and management including project planning and management, relationship building, providing backend technical support to the TizaaWorks online platform and the sensitization and registration of Youth onto the Microsoft TizaaWorks platform. The position holder should be comfortable securing high level support from government and the private sector as well as connecting Youth to employment opportunities. This is a one year project during which the position holder will develop a sustainability plan to expand the project over 2-3 years, by identifying key stakeholders for scaling up within pilot sites and to new sites. 

The Package 

  • The position is based in Amasaman.
  •  S/He reports to the Grants Manager with matrix report to Food Security & Economic Development Programme Manager 

Responsibilities but not limited to the following:

  • Support design of Microsoft TizaaWorks platform in accordance with requirements for Youth Sparks program.
  • Manage the project budget & provide budget guidance/advice to Area Programs.
  • Develop & monitor Youth Sparks implementation plans for Area Programs. 
  • Work with Business Processing Outsourcing and Food Security Specialist to support Area Programs to develop appropriate ‘Youth Sparks’ plans within their projects.
  • Ensure timely and comprehensive reporting.
  • Oversee the effective management of the ‘Youth Sparks’ and scale-up of initiatives to other Area Programs.
  • Establish a strong and sustainable mechanism to enable creation, access and utilization of Platform targeting Youth within programme communities.
  • Work closely with Teachers, Circuit supervisors, School Management Committees, and Reading Camp Facilitators within the two Area Programs providing critical guidance and input in the implementation of literacy boost program.
  • Liaise with the Grant and food security with monitoring tools and utilization of appropriate monitoring practices/processes.
  • Undertake networking activities and foster partnerships with key education sector stakeholders to promote sustainable approaches for improving learning outcomes in school and community’s Youth Sparks items/structures.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Science, and Psychology with strong IT skills
  • 3 Years in relevant sector 
  • Experience working in rural communities is important.
  • Strong background in pedagogy, history of education and other education components
  • Must be willing to acknowledge World Vision Christian commitment and able to stand above denominational diversities.
  • Deliver high level program management results.
  • Demonstrated capacity to build relationships with management and to influence decision making.
  • Ability to think creatively and generate solutions in collaborative way to improve program effectiveness.
  • High degree of written competence, especially in report writing and communications to external audiences.
  • Strong skills in networking with education sector stakeholders in the field as well as other network of educators or organizations.
  • Strong facilitation skills with community stakeholders.
  • Capacity to mentor and build capacity of staff and community stakeholders.
  • Interest and ability to relate positively to children, staff and parents.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English.
