Job Description

Job Summary: Help to workshop manager to planning, leading, organizing, and supervising the day to day activities of the Workshop Section, controlling the quality of repairs, PMS, implementation of responsible section and improve performance of subordinates.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  leads a group of electricians  and helpers within the company's   workshop.
  •  Performs trouble shooting and diagnostics procedure on vehicles and equipment.
  •  Record observations and findings during diagnostics run and decide on the correct method of repair, as necessary.
  •  Plan and organise Preventive Maintenance.
  •  Hands-on supervision of all workshop activities, especially technical electrical and air condition (auto and general)  issues.
  •  Forecast spare parts for specific jobs/special job or for stocks replenishment.
  •  Supervise and follow up on actual progress of each individual repair job.
  •  Provide on-the-job training as well as coaching and mentoring to electricians and helpers.
  •  Follow up repair order, registering the time taken to complete each task.
  •  Conduct final check/test driving for all vehicles/equipment prior to release.
  •  Support and fully comply with Company and Departmental policies and procedures.
  •  Conduct any other task given by workshop manager.
  •  Conduct and maintain housekeeping actives in the   Workshop and working surrounding. 

Required Skills or Experience

  • Successfully completed automobile engineering NDT/NVT class 4 or similar qualification in with 2 years on the job experience in construction machinery.
  • HND/Bachelor degree in electrical engineering (Automobile and general) with 3 to 5 years working experience.  
  • 7 years working experience in heavy equipment/Construction equipment at the supervisory capacity.
  • Reading, understanding and writing skill of English.
  • Must be familiar with electrical and aircondition systems (automobile and general), tools, equipment, codes and safety procedures.
  • Must be able to work effectively with little supervision
  • Be abreast with modern trends in electrical engineering
  • Be conversant with the ethics of the electrical profession
  • Have good interpersonal relations and communications skills
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Must be computer literate, e.g. MS Office Suite
  • Must have valid Ghanaian driving licence.
