Job Description

A reputable non-bank financial institution with branches across the country requires the services of confident and performance oriented professional to be employed as an ACCOUNTS OFFICER 

Responsibilities

  • Shall assist the Head of Finance in the day to day running of the Finance Department.
  • Prepare and submit month-end management accounts.
  • Ensures timely and accurate monthly bank reconciliation and prompt action taken on reconciling items.
  • Maintains subsidiary ledgers for all assets and liabilities (Branch and Head Office).
  • Assists in the preparation of payments, deposits, petty cash and voucher preparation.
  • Responsible for accounts payables and account allocations on all invoices.
  • Ensures that the General Ledger is properly and completely maintained.
  • Prepares month-end branch profitability reports and product profitability analysis.
  • Monitors external (prudential) and internal ratios of the institution.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, BSc Mathematics, Statistics or related discipline.
  • Partly qualified member of ACCA or ICA will be an added advantage. 
  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in the accounting field with a Financial Institution.

Special / Personal Abilities

  • Very good analytical and report writing skills.
  • Good knowledge of the requirement of Bank of Ghana, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Experience in financial modeling using Microsoft Excel
  • Good working knowledge of IFRS.
