Job Description

Achieves marketing and sales operational objectives by contributing marketing and sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying trends, implementing change and achieving the maximum sales target of the company.

Work Activities

  • Identifying new markets and business opportunities and arranging meetings with potential customers
  • Visiting potential customers for new business and developing and maintaining relationships
  • Advising on forthcoming product developments and discussing special promotions.
  • Maintain and develop good relationship with customers through personal contact or meetings or via telephone etc.
  • Must act as a bridge between the company and its existing and potential markets.
  • Display efficiency in gathering market and customer info to enable negotiations regarding variations in prices, delivery and customer specifications to their managers.
  • Help management in forthcoming products and discuss on special promotions.
  • Review their own performance and aim at exceeding their targets.
  • Record sales and order information and report the same to the sales department.
  • Provide accurate feedback on future buying trends to their respective employers.
  • Provide customers with quotations 
  • Negotiate the terms of an agreement and close sales 
  • Gather market and customer information and provide feedback on buying trends 
  • Represent your organisation at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations 
  • Identify new markets and business opportunities 
  • Record sales and send copies to the sales office 
  • listening to customer requirements and presenting appropriately to make a sale;
  • cold calling to arrange meetings with potential customers to prospect for new business.
  • negotiating on price, costs, delivery and specifications with buyers and managers;
  • challenging any objections with a view to getting the customer to buy;
  • liaising with suppliers to check the progress of existing orders;
  • checking the quantities of goods on display and in stock;
  • gaining a clear understanding of customers' businesses and requirements
  • making accurate, rapid cost calculations and providing customers with quotations;
  • attending team meetings and sharing best practice with colleagues.

Required Skills or Experience

  • This area of work is open to persons with a Diploma or HND in Marketing.
  • Pre experience with an alcoholic beverage industry is an added bonus.
  • At least 2-5 years of relevant experience with a beverage industry
  • 25 – 35 years
