Job Description

  • Responsible for managing the sales team, developing a business plan covering sales, revenue, and expense controls, meeting agreed targets, and promoting the organization’s presence throughout Africa
  • Responsible for the planning, recruitment, direction, organization and control of sales managers and sales representatives to accomplish specific objectives.
  • Plan and implement a specific appraisal system that describes the responsibilities and performance standards for each member of the sales team, set individual territory sales and commission targets and administer the commission plan.
  • Maintain current product knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment potentially saleable by the dealership. 
  • Monitors competitive activity and products. 
  • Attend sales training, sales meetings, events and seminars. 
  • Calling on customers, following up with customers and work through and with peer group to call on offices and job sites to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Develop existing accounts and continuously prospect for new customers in order to achieve established goals and objectives
  • Pass sales leads to appropriate sales representative
  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of businesses or departments concerned with the pricing, sales, service, customer relations and resolution internally and externally. 
  • Direct and coordinate division's financial and budget activities to fund importing for equipment, maximize financial results, and increase overall efficiency. 
  • Determine product offerings and services sold, set marketing and pricing strategies based on market needs and requirements.

Required Skills or Experience

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or similar related field.  
  • Driver license Category B

EXPERIENCE

  • Must have power system sales management experience of greater than 5-7 years.  
  • 5 plus years high level sales management experience is required.
  • Must have industry experience as well as strong customer relations experience.
  • Power Systems Division management experience is preferred. 
  • Strong business acumen including but not limited to budgeting, forecasting and managing P&L statements.  

KNOWLEDGE

  • Basic knowledge of diesel and natural gas engine generators or good engine or electrical in  the Telecom engineering industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of methods, and the tools used in Managing marketing and sales of Power equipment
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote positive work practices to improve performance.
  • Ability to effectively lead and facilitate a team to drive business results. 
  • MS Office applications
