JOB DESCRIPTION
Chemical engineers apply the principles of chemistry, biology, physics, and mathematics to solve problems that involve the production or use of chemicals, fuel, drugs, food, and many other products. They design processes and equipment for large-scale manufacturing, plan and test methods of manufacturing products and treating byproducts, and supervise production.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop new, more efficient processes and materials for water and wastewater treatment, or improve existing process and materials
• Design methods and equipment to control water treatment processes 
• Ensure the safe, efficient and environmentally responsible operation of equipment and processes
• Plan and specify new treatment plants, taking into account available technology, market needs, cost of equipment and disposal of surplus substances
• Review current water treatment methods for cost efficiency, environmental impact, output and water quality
• Identify faults in the operation of water and wastewater treatment plants and take corrective action
• Prepare reports, feasibility studies and cost analyses of processes
• Provide process information to sales and marketing personnel or customers
• Direct and coordinate the work of maintenance and construction tradespeople or water treatment plant operators.

Required Skills or Experience

• Work Experience: Minimum 3 years work experience in WaterTreatment
