Job Description

JOB PURPOSE
This a leadership role with responsibility of managing Group Infrastructure serving the Ecobank affiliates. The role also covers the management of the SLAs defined in the Technology Services Agreement (TSA) and ensures that the agreed service quality is met. It also covers the management of Business initiatives/projects that Group O&T assigned to group for implementation.

STRATEGY & PLANNING

  • Lead strategic planning to achieve business goals by identifying and prioritizing development initiatives and setting timetables for the evaluation, development, and deployment of all web-based services.
  • In partnership with Technology Applications, identify opportunities and risks for delivering the company’s services as a web-based business, including identification of competitive services, opportunities for innovation, and assessment of marketplace obstacles and technical hurdles to the business success.
  • Identify technology trends and evolving social behaviour that may support or impede the success of the business.
  • Participate as a member of the senior management team in establishing governance processes of direction and control to ensure that objectives are achieved, risks are managed appropriately and the organization’s resources are used responsibly, particularly in the areas of software development, office networks and computers, and telecommunications.

IMPLEMENTATION & DEPLOYMENT

  • Select, deploy, and monitor performance profiling tools and procedures.
  • Review and approve proposed development releases and manage the release process.
  • Evaluate and select web application hosting providers.
  • Establish an application deployment process and manage the deployment

PEOPLE MANAGEMENTAND DEVELOPMENT

  • Building, motivating and managing a large team to achieve stability of all the Technology platforms that supports the applications and provide consistent support to end-users and customers through a clear process of KPIs settings and appraisals
  • Build a culture of productivity, efficiency, customer service excellence and employee pride through effective people management strategy
  • Supervise and direct the team to deliver agreed objectives
  • Ensure strong and qualitative bench strengths of pool of successors for key roles in Applications.

Required Skills or Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience managing Technology
  • Good knowledge of the banking products
  • Strong people management skills with proven ability to drive results through people
  • Graduate, with a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in the area of Technology
  • Certifications :- CCNE, CCNI, Togaf or Corbit
  • Fluent English or French. A good working knowledge of the second language is an advantage

  • Ability to develop and set strategic and innovative objectives in the changing area of Technology infrastructure
  • Good project management skills
  • Good knowledge of the ITIL framework
  • Strong people management, relationship building, team development and conflict resolution skills and the confidence and ability to influence and negotiate
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a high pressure environment and deliver results within tight deadlines
  • Gravitas and immediate credibility at senior levels coupled with ability to operate easily at all levels of the organization
