Job Description

• The incumbent will perform instruction on preventive maintenance modules for CePAT analytical equipment, ensure that all equipment are calibrated and validated as well as properly maintained for efficient operation.
• Incumbent will also develop training modules to train chemists on equipment use and utilization and well as deliver training to developing country quality control laboratory staff on basic preventive maintenance principles.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Prepares SOP for all newly installed equipment and performs training on new equipment.
• Ensures operation of analytical equipment by calibrating equipment; performing equipment preventive maintenance using manufacturer's troubleshooting instructions/guides.
• Prepares preventive maintenance and service reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
• Keeps equipment supplies/consumables ready by inventorying stock, placing orders and verifying receipt.
• Proactively work with equipment’s vendor engineer to solve equipment problems using effective fault diagnosis skills.
• Follow routine and preventative maintenance programs and undertake appropriate preventative maintenance checks as per schedule.
• Liaise with and supervise external contractors while on site in order to ensure all relevant corporate policies are adhered to.
• Maintain, document and order critical and consumable spares consignments.
• Undertake the Installation, operational and performance qualification of equipment as required to support or improve current processes.
• Undertake any training as necessary to ensure flexible job rotation and skills matrices are maintained in order to promote future development.
• Develop, improves/updates training materials on preventive maintenance and troubleshooting equipment

Required Skills or Experience

• B.S. in Engineering, biomedical engineering, chemistry, pharmacy, biotechnology or medical science with at least 3 years of broad industry, laboratory, and compendia. Familiarity with French language and fluent in English.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Training, and Experience:

• Good communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience with common analytical and microbiological methods and procedures.
• Experience in developing Engineering and Maintenance documentation.
• A good understanding of Engineering and Maintenance principles and processes.
• A proactive analytical thinker with the ability to work with minimal supervision and on their own initiative
