Job Description

• Many of the world’s 500 million smallholder families face two interrelated challenges: they hold little, if any, rights to their land and being restricted to the informal sector, they often cannot access technical and financial services to improve their livelihoods.
• Landmapp provides affordable land rights documentation for smallholder farmers around the world, currently operating in Ghana and starting up in Indonesia. We do this through a custom built hardware and software package, from field/mobile for data collection to backend systems for verification and GIS software for document creation.
• We’re now looking for a full-time developer to join our team in Accra, well versed in Python, who can support our lead developer in developing our platform back-end.
• We’re looking for someone who is passionate about working to empower farmers and their families across the world. You will be part of a small and very fast paced start-up team set on conquering the world.

Required Skills or Experience

The relevant candidate will have experience and skill in the following areas:

• 3+ years developing with Python
• Experience maintaining a online production service is mandatory
• Experience in Agile methodologies, code reviews and unit testing
• Solid experience of Django framework and templating
• Experience with Celery framework and its’ components (Rabbitmq, Redis)
• Intimate knowledge of PostgreSQL, ORM (sqlAlchemy) and database optimisation
• Experience with PostGIS extension
• DB replication methodologies (redundancy)
• Github / Bitbucket for version control
• Good verbal and written communication in English
• Experience working in remote teams
