Job Description

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP :The successful candidate shall report to the Rector of GIMPA. 

JOB DESCRIPTION 

  • Oversee the implementation of policies and procedures defined by the RLC Governing Council. 
  • Maintain close working relationship with USAID, RLC facilitators and key stakeholders and develop strategic partnerships (locally, regionally, in the U.S. and internationally) that support the RLC's growth and sustainability. 
  • Provide all required information to the RLC Governing Council through the Rector. 
  • Set up monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to receive feedbacks from participants and submit end of training reports to the Steering Committee to ensure effective oversight of the project by GIMPA Management. 
  • Coordinate the various activity areas of the Project to ensure seamless and smooth delivery of the on-Site and on-line training of YALI fellows. 
  • Ensure effective procurement planning and coordinate all RLC internal and external communications. 
  • Provide leadership necessary to ensure the effective development of the project in conformity with USAID rules and regulations and consistent with GIMPA policies and operating principles.     , 
  • Provide leadership to Accra RLC and Satellite centres and ensure update of policies for all operations. 
  • Represent the YALI RLC at technical and networking forums with donors and national, regional and community-level stakeholders. 
  • Prepare, implement and monitor project annual budget, 
  • Prepare documentation and facilitate submission seven (7) days before YALI Governing Board Meeting. 
  • Be in charge of engaging resource partners in youth development activities.

 LEADERSHIP ROLE 

  • Provide strategic vision and direction for Accra YALI RLC growth and sustainability. 
  • Set relevant and ambitious goals for the RLC and engage partners and stakeholders in achieving them. 
  • Ensure RLC staff development and high performance delivery. 
  • Develop a strong team around Accra YALI RLC. 
  • Consult with experts and professional networks working to keep abreast with current leadership development strategies and successful 

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT 

  • The successful candidate shall hold office for a term of two (2) years in the first instance and may be re-appointed for a further one (1) year term only, subject to satisfactory performance. 

Required Skills or Experience

  • A minimum of Master's degree in Management, Administration or related field with ten (10) years post qualification relevant working experience.

  • Must have experience in dealing with cultural diversities, values and gender awareness. 
  • Must have demonstrated excellence in communications, problem solving skills and process improvement. 
  • Must have demonstrated ability to stay positive and motivated in a challenging environment. 
  • Must have high sense of integrity and morality. 
  • Must have good analytical and report writing skills. 
  • Must be computer literate and have knowledge of on-line course delivery. 
  • Must demonstrate commercial awareness. 
  • Must have sound financial management and budgeting skills. 
  • Must have knowledge of inclusive planning, especially for persons with disability. 
  • Must have knowledge of leadership development for the youth.
