Job Description

 

  • Position: Training Support Officers (2)
  • Location: Central and Western Region
  • Duration:   Full Time Salary
  • Remuneration: GBP (£) 354 gross per month

Reporting to:   Education Project Manager

 

Main Role / Purpose
The Sabre Trust is a development organisation working in close collaboration with the local education authorities in the Central and Western Regions to support the implementation of the Ghana Education Service's plans to scale up quality kindergarten education nationwide. As the Fast-track Transformational Teacher Training (FTTT) programme gains greater recognition in the context of the Government's plans to scale up quality kindergarten in Ghana, the Training Support Officer (TSO) has a significant role to play.

The successful candidate will spend the first 3-6 months supporting every aspect of the FTTT programme.

This will provide the TSO with the opportunity to learn about Sabre Trust and the FTTT programme through observation, participation, and support from his/her colleagues. This period will be followed by a performance and salary review, at which point the FTTT management and TSO will decide on a more specific job description based on the TSO's strengths and weaknesses. We consider this to be an appropriate method to select outstanding, versatile candidates with the right attitude to succeed with Sabre Trust. We have a strong track record of identifying talent, and providing such individuals with an excellent foundation for their personal and professional development

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the training manager to deliver training content
  • Assist with the delivery of the training workshops as required.
  • Directly support the delivery of coaching and monitoring for selected schools.
  • Carry out monitoring activities including Spot Checks and Teacher Monitoring and Assessments to track project progress.
  • Ensure advance and adequate preparation towards every training workshop including
  • Resources/materials preparation for all training workshops
  • Venue preparation for all workshops
  • Support any other activities that further the goals of the TTT Central Region project as required.
  • Documenting outcome of workshops, ie photos, videos and written reports
  • Responsible for social media reporting.ie the blog

Required Skills or Experience

  • At least Diploma in Basic Education, 
  • Qualified teacher who has taught for not less than two years, FTTT trained, Knowledge and practice on ECE.IT skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong team player, but must have the ability to work independently
  • Commitment to the aims and objectives of the Sabre Charitable Trust.
