BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

LOCATION: ACCRA

CATEGORY: LOGISTICS

Our client, a globally recognized logistics company is currently looking to recruit a proactive Business Development Manager to support their operations in Ghana.

ROLE PROFILE

The successful candidate will be responsible for Identifying market trends in conjunction with the company’s business development strategy in Ghana

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execution / Implementation of the planned marketing activity
  • Identifying new markets, clients and industry opportunities
  • Identifying market trends in conjunction with company’s business development strategy in Ghana
  • Scouting for, and identifying relevant tender opportunities
  • Data analysis determining volume, throughput and the required network infrastructure required for new business opportunities

Business case formulation

  • Development of a logistics solutions business case applying leading business intelligence software.
  • Feasibility studies of identified opportunities – considering value, profitability, capital investment within the context of the existing business strategy.

Management

  • Sales processes and reporting.
  • Implementation of target driven sales processes
  • Assembling and submission of tender processes
  • Accurate and timeous completion and submission of reports
  • CRM (software) reports on head office’s business development
  • Maintenance of renewals and RFP/RFQ schedules of existing contracts
  • Updating and maintenance of annual escalation schedules of existing clients
  • Annual rate reviews/negotiations within context of financial performance, budget, escalation formulas and financial indices.
  • Continues improvement, including current best practice and relevant case study implementation
  • Client relationships, with a clear understanding of the client’s business and its requirements
  • Strategy development for clients in conjunction with other companies
  • Relations with key figures and decisions makers within the client’s company structures

Required Skills or Experience

  • B.Eng. (Industrial)/ Hons. Logistics, Logistics Management or similar degree.
  • Minimum three years’ management experience
  • Industry certification will be an advantage

  • Excellent written and verbal communication (including business presentations and reporting; project overviews and feedback; public speaking)
