Job Description

Our client, a leader in the Ghanaian Hospitality industry is currently looking to hire a highly efficient and proactive financial controller to support their operations.

ROLE PROFILE

The financial controller will be responsible for the hotel’s accounting and financial management requirement including managing the finance department, procurement function and electronic data processing systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take total charge of the financial affairs of the hotel.
  • Implement budgeting procedures and tools.
  • Direct the planning of the financial strategy of the hotel.
  • Direct the revenue forecasts of the hotel.
  • Exercise supervision of all junior staff under the charge of the Finance department.
  • Responsible for the company’s accounting and financial management requirements.
  • Ensuring effective implementation of all accounting policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for preparing and reviewing annual budgets, monthly forecasts, operating results, various financial reports and ensuring that all transactions are accurate and in compliance with government regulations.
  • Assists in the building of an efficient and professional team of employees within Finance and Accounting Department.
  • Providing support and liaise with the General Manager in meeting strategic goals of the organization.
  • Assists proactively with cost control requirements, revenue enhancement possibilities, profit improvement opportunities and ensuring a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard company’s assets.

Required Skills or Experience

EDUCATION

  • Professional qualification in Accounting.
  • Degree in Financial Management or accounting.
  • Master’s degree in Financial Management or accounting is an added advantage

 

 

EXPERIENCE

  •  5 to 10 years of financial and management experience (preferably in up-scale hospitality organizations).

REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidate must possess strong financial acumen, analytical skills, must be solutions oriented and very well organized.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • High command of Excel, MICROS, FIDELIO & OPERA.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Energetic and highly self-motivated.
  • Candidate must be passionate about the hotel industry
  • Should be accurate with figures.
  • Ability to generate reliable reports for use in transactions.
  • Knowledge in general accounting principles.
  • Must possess problem solving and analytical skill.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadline.
  • High attention to details and accuracy.
  • Ability to track and manage multiple projects at one time.
