- REPORTS TO: GENERAL MANAGER, OPERATIONS
- JOB LOCATION: FREETOWN
JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for the overall management, implementation and monitoring of the local and international traffic monitoring project.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand in detail the vision, priorities, requirements and challenges from the Employer’s point of view.
- Represent Employer’s interests during interactions with the client.
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track changes based on the Employer’s software vision.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Prepare and deliver monthly and/or any other statutory report(s) on the operations/activities of the project to the Regulator and management.
- Make regular contact with Superior to report and raise any issue that may have any adverse effect on the project.
- Manage and monitor internal resources and third parties/vendors for flawless execution of projects.
- Ensure that all project schedules are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Provide input into the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
- Provide a software development plan that meets the future needs of the Company’s clients.
- Hold direct reports accountable for managing their assignments to ensure the project’s goals are achieved.
Required Skills or Experience
- Master’s degree in Project Management, Management Information Systems or related discipline.
- PMP certification and membership with a recognised professional body is essential.
- At least eight (8) years relevant work experience in a similar position.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Proven knowledge and experience in leading software infrastructure projects with in-depth knowledge of C#, Java, .NET, SQL and software design.
- Expertise in project management phases, techniques & tools.
- Outstanding grasp of ICT concepts and processes.
- Solid analytical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated aptitude for effective team leadership.
- Strong negotiation and conflict management skills.
- Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of financial planning and management processes.
- Ability to maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work effectively with all categories of employees.
- Strong managerial, coaching, mentoring and interpersonal skills in a "team" setting.
- Strong knowledge in the use of standard Ms Office suite and other software and tools relating to project management.
