Job Description

  • POSITION TITLE: WASH Sales Manager
  • PROJECT OR DIVISION: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
  • REPORTS TO: WASH Regional Sales Manager
  • LOCATION: Based in Savelugu – Nanton and its environs 

PURPOSE
The Sales Manager is part of the salesforce for the RuSHiNG Sanitation Program. The Sales Manager plays a key role in supporting the National Sales Manager (NSM) to achieve the target of 61,560 toilets sold and delivered throughout the target region. This target is to be achieved in three regions of Ghana – Northern Region, Upper East Region and Upper West Region in 36 months. The SM will work both in the field to sell toilets to rural households as well as support the NSM in the day to day management of the sales officers, including compliance with discipline and work attitude.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop sales and marketing plans in coordination with Regional Sales Manager to achieve RuSHiNG sales goals.
  • Assist in RuSHiNG branding and communication activities.
  • Generate action plans to enhance performance and productive capacity of underperforming sales personnel 
  • Research the market for identifying new business opportunities.
  • Explain to prospective households about the advantages of the toilets offered and follow up with them to close the sales deals.
  • Respond to Household queries regarding the toilets in a timely fashion.
  • Develop creative strategies to retain the household clients including interviewing them to take their feedback and incorporate it into the growth plan.
  • Prepare the annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly sales budget and track the achievements against the budget.
  • Demonstrate continuous development of in-depth knowledge about WRP Sales Strategy, business development practices, target household demographics and WASH industry trends.
  • Maintain a knowledge repository of households, referrals, prospects and presentations.
  • Develop strong customer relationships in order to generate high volume of prospective household clients.
  • Monitor and report on all activities and pipelines
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the National Sales Manager

Required Skills or Experience

  • Graduated from Polytechnic with HND in Marketing, Business, Economics
  • At least two years’ work experience in sales management and business development
  • Organized, flexible, detail-oriented, and hardworking,
  • Team-work and problem solving
  • Available for regular travels within the assigned territories
  • Ability to Speak; Twi, Hausa, Dagbane, Daagare, or any other Languages from the three Northern regions of Ghana.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Self-motivated, target driven and results oriented
  • Microsoft Word and Excel
