Job Description

THE GHANA NGO COALITION ON THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD (GNCRC) SEEKS THE SERVICES OF A NATIONAL COORDINATOR.
Job Location: Accra, in the Greater Accra Region. The successful candidate shall work in all the 10 regions of Ghana with regional members of the Coalition. 

The National Coordinator will be responsible for managing branches of the coalition in all the Ten (10) regions of Ghana to deliver the Coalition’s objectives; 

FUNCTIONS OF THE NATIONAL COORDINATOR shall be:

  • To serve as secretary to the Executive Council;
  • To responsible for the effective function of the Annual General Meeting and all Committee meetings of the Coalition.
  • To efficiently implement the Policies and decisions and direction of the Executive Council through the Coalition.
  • To ensure the preparation and submission of work plan, annual report and budget for approval and conduct overall supervision and control over the same.
  • To obtain and document key issues raised by all branches that affect their discussions by the Effective Council and AGM. Delegate authorities to regional branches and staff and commensurate with assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • To ensure that the resources development is carried out with a view to making the Coalition financially independent. Liaise between network groups, donors and government agencies etc.
  • To administer all programs and report to the Executive Council
  • To be the day to day administrator of the Coalition

Required Skills or Experience

  • A University first degree with emphasis in Social Work and in-depth specialized training programs directly related to the work to be performed.  A Master’s degree is preferable.
  • 5 years' management experience within an NGO 
  • Must have good interpersonal  development skills and relate well with people from diverse back- grounds 
  • Must have a good knowledge in Child rights issues 
  • Must be about 80% Computer Literate
  • Must be very conversant with Ghana's Human Rights laws as a core objectives and model 
  • Must be dynamic, innovative and self-motivated
  • Must be willing and able to work effectively with people and superiors
  • Must be able to work under pressure and be goal oriented 
  • Must have strong organizational abilities and skilled in Proposal Writing, Reporting and training.
  • Should be married and have passion for Children and can relate to gender issues.
  • Cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse constituencies required
  • Participate in the development of new projects, in coordination with  a  team, as well as potential researchers, implementing partners, and donors
  • Promote inter-project best practices and take a lead in sharing best practices with projects through formal and informal trainings
  • Oversee project financial management, including creation and monitoring of project budgets, and ensuring smooth integration of projects into financial systems
  • Take part in regular meetings with local government officials and other partners to ensure success of programmatic activities
  • Support the dissemination of interim results via presentations and reports to GNCRC members.
