PROJECT FINANCE OFFICER

Location: Accra

Category: Accounting & Finance

Our client, a global health Non-Governmental Organization with the aim of improving the health of people in developing countries is seeking to hire highly proactive PROJECT FINANCE OFFICER to support their operations in Ghana.

ROLE PROFILE

The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Manager and the COP to ensure the effective and efficient management and reporting of project funds to contractual partners. He/ She is responsible to provide efficient, effective and accurate financial, administrative and logistical support to contractual partners. Primarily, the post holder will ensure the financial integrity of these partner, provide consolidated financial plans and report accurately and timely for management decision making.

 Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Establish project finance systems that will enable meeting the organization requirement
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports in line with narrative reports.
  • Set up financial templates for partners to report on
  • Provide guidance and education to contractual partners on how to manage the funds and adherence to the contract terms
  • Develop, in conjunction with the Finance Manager, financial performance measures relevant to the objectives and requirements of the activity of the partner organization
  • Provide ongoing financial risk analysis and recommendations of risk management strategies of partner organizations
  • Develop tools for and run financial aspects of inception workshop for all key staff of the partner organization
  • Verify accuracy and compliance of expenses and expense reporting to contractual terms of partner organization
  • Identify and recommend improvements that could streamline implementation processes in the areas of accounting, finance and budgeting for partner organizations;
  • Responsible for entering sales and account receivable information in QBE
  • Provide monthly sales report to the sales and Finance Manager
  • Review receivable balances weekly and follow up on creditors to fulfil their credit obligation
  • Conduct quarterly monitoring visit to partner organization, review their books and produce report as required by PSI
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure organized, complete, properly approved packages are delivered to Washington on time
  • Provide support during the budgeting process
  • Promote compliance with relevant USAID regulations and the organization policies/procedure
  • Provision of high levels of customer service within the program
  • Provide support to the Team on any adhoc activity that may occur
  • Other duties assigned

Required Skills or Experience

 EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or economics.
  • ACCA/ICA Part Two qualified
  • Master’s Degree will be an added advantage
  • 3-5 years Finance and Accounting working experience
  • 1-2-years’ experience in NGO financial management will be advantageous

 REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency in MS application especially Excel.
  •  Experience with USAID budgets
  • Basic knowledge in law advantage
  • A high degree of integrity, accountability, energy and flexibility;
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Ability to travel extensively locally
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills required;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills;
  • Demonstrated success in working independently, taking initiative, setting priorities and seeing projects through to completion;
  • Strong service-focused orientation; must work well and respectfully with field office personnel;
  • Ability to multi-task, collaborate with others, meet deadlines, respond to changes in priorities, and work in rapidly changing and deadline driven environment;
  • Experience with monitoring documents for sub grantees, such as monitoring plan, risk assessments, audit reports
  • Must have Audit background
