• Department:    Fleet  department
• Classification/Category/ Code:    NGS -140-E3
• Reports To:    Transport officer
• Coordinates With:    The transport officer and transport manager
• Responsible For:    All assigned vehicles

Purpose Of The Job:

• To transport people and deliver products to customers by applying knowledge of driving regulations and roads in n the area.
• The driver will be responsible for driving to and from designated locations, verifying loads, maintaining record of duty status according to state and federal regulations, and performing pre-trip and post trip inspections.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all assigned vehicles are of good standing and ready for any task
• Conveys office staffs assigned, goods and equipment to and from designated destinations at any given time anywhere as directed by the fleet department
• Performs daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and minor maintenance tasks on assigned vehicles
• Ensures periodic scheduled vehicle maintenance is completed and reports any finding to the transport officer should there be any
• Fill out daily log sheets for every trips
• Provides safety briefing to officials and prepares accident and incident reports as and when necessary.
• Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all state and local regulations for the safe operations of a commercial motor vehicle.

Other Duties And Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all deliveries have been signed and delivered to the correct recipient
• Keep vehicle clean and maintained at all times
• Perform preventative and regular maintenance on vehicle

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• An interface between Manager  and clients

Key Performance Indicators:

• Maintenance of Company vehicles, equipment and resources.
• Prompt and appropriate reporting (Written and Verbal).
• Professional representation of the company and the trucking industry through responsible driving and appearance.
• Proper handling and accurate completion of all necessary  paperwork
• Safe and timely transportation of freight from origin to destination.
• Safe and legal operation of a motor vehicle.
• Abide by safety and health procedures at all time.

Required Skills or Experience

• Must possess a valid class C and above driver’s license
• Must have the ability to read and write English Language.
• Perform simple mathematical Calculations.
• At least 3 years’ work experience as a driver with references.
• No major accidents in the past 3 years.

Knowledge:

• Must have the knowledge to handle Receipts; read maps, road signs, maintain record of duty status, etc.
• Must have working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
• Good knowledge of changing technology in transport management
