Our company is a Non-Bank Financial Institution (NBFI) and a subsidiary of a multinational company. The company seeks to employ a Sales Manager

- Reports To: Branch Manager
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
- To ensure the smooth running of the Sales Units by compiling and implementing sales, marketing and promotional plans.
- To manage performance of all Sales Executives / Agents to meet and exceed targets thereby ensuring growth and service delivery according to BFS business and operational strategy
- Manage the relationship between the Branch, the Sales Units and the Sales Executives/ Agents
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sale Performance / Achievement of Unit Sales Target
- Achieve / exceed monthly Sales Unit target in terms of count and cash/ value
- Achieve targets for all product categories as per monthly schedules
- Ensure that the correct weighting is achieved on the sales product mix
Execution of Sales Unit Operational Plans
- Leads the Sales Unit Supervisors and Sale Executives/ Agents to implement sales, marketing and promotional plans to achieve and continuously improve branch sales
- Ensures that laid down policies and procedures are communicated, implemented and adhered to by ALL within your Unit(s) ( Daily Disciplines, Sales Roles, Code of Conduct, Sales Management Policy documents etc)
- Ensures continuous recruitment , training, coaching of new Agents / Sales Executives to facilitate the achievement of Units sales targets
- Ensure that the Units retain a minimum average number of active Sales Executives / Agents across all Sales Units every month.
- Ensures that all new recruits / agents are given contracts and coded
- Ensures that the Sales Units adhere to BFS Agents/Sales Executives code of conduct and that their actions are aligned to business objectives
- Ensures that ALL Agents / Sales Executives are trained and receive on-going coaching to make them adequately skilled to execute their sales and marketing duties in a professional and ethical manner
- Ensures that Sales Units meet all lending criteria as stipulated in the company Credit Policy
- Communicate to the Branch Manager and all other relevant Managers issues concerning employee/ Agent performance, people issues, unit hygiene matters etc at the Units for resolution
- Resolves sales, marketing and promotional challenges and difficulties confronting all Sales Units and where challenged refer same to the Branch and Regional Operations Manager.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure that unit staffs know and clearly understand Company Credit and Quality Assurance policy guidelines and procedures on loan processing.
- Ensure that all Loan underwriters comply strictly with these policy guidelines when underwriting loans for your approval.
- Keep errors arising from deal processing within acceptable limits
- Take disciplinary / corrective action where infractions occur
Housekeeping/ Reporting
- Ensure excellent Housekeeping, Punctuality, proper and appropriate dressing of Sales Executives and Sales Unit staff.
- Ensure full compliance and adherence of Sales Executives to the company code of conduct and all other authorized standards and procedures
- Ensure that all management and regulatory reports (hourly scheduled returns, Unit performance, Agent recruitment and training plans, Marketing plans, sales reports etc) are prepare and submitted on time.
Customer Relationship Management
- Ensure that minimum customer service standards are maintained at all Units by establishing and keeping service level agreements with both internal and external customers/ stakeholders
- Discusses customer service issues of the Units with the Branch Manager and Head Office staff for solutions and provide feedback to customers concerned
- Keeps abreast with current industry trends and provide regular feedback on competitor information
- Resolves all customer complaints / queries that affect the Sales Units by attending to them immediately and providing feedback to the relevant parties
Training of Subordinates / Personal Development
- Attend required training and all other information and business strategy sessions provided by the company and communicates the learnings to the Units
- Ensure that Agents / Sales Executives are continuously trained, informed and kept up to date
- Coaches individual employees as a means of transferring knowledge, skills, and accelerating their career development
- Take steps to ensure your personal development
Required Skills or Experience
1st Degree OR HND or its equivalents plus relevant hands on experience
Knowledge and Experience
- Direct Sales and Marketing experience in the NBFI industry.
- 3-5 years management experience
