Job Description

Expression of Interest (EOI)

DAI, implementer of the USAID funded Feed the Future: Building Capacity for African Agricultural Transformation Program (Africa Lead II), invites qualified firms to submit a proposal aimed at supporting the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) in Nigeria to research and document all the requirements, procedures and services required for a prospective investor to start up an agri-business in Nigeria.

Assist the FMARD agribusiness division staff to design and establish the agribusiness resource center.
Deliver a practical and interactive on- site training, technical assistance and work with the division staff to develop the products and documentation/ information to equip both the on line and physical agribusiness investor resource center.

Required Skills or Experience

The following are the requirements interested vendors must submit to qualify for an invitation to submit proposals. Pre-qualified vendors may be invited to respond to the solicitation:

Demonstrate at least five years’ experience in agriculture value chain analysis, market entry/strategic consulting , and agricultural development projects
Demonstrate expertise in start-up and after care investment services in development projects as well as due diligence and transaction advisory.
Knowledge of constraints to investing in agribusiness SMEs and markets in Nigeria and how to overcome them
Experience working in Nigeria and familiarity with the strategic objectives of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development ( FMARD) and Nigeria Promotion Agency
Knowledge of the Nigeria regulatory environment for businesses
Expertise in start-up business planning and investment promotion strategies
Expertise in, Agribusiness and value chain development projects
Consultant Experience -credentials of consultant who will be leading the delivery of this assignment. (CVs of proposed team members);
- At least a Master’s degree in Agriculture related and/ or business administration and management.
- Extensive experience in research and analysis and excellent writing skills
- Excellent training and facilitation skills
