Job Description

Position Purpose

The Head of School drives student achievement by managing efficient, smooth school operations that maximize instructional minutes for students. The Head supports the Directors in upholding high expectations for school culture and student behaviour. He/She drives decision-making on issues of school site procedures, Learning curriculum, and staffing.

The Head is integral to our School and our commitment to rigorous, engaging learning experiences for our students.

Responsibilities

  • Support student achievement by designing and managing the implementation of school site procedures and logistics that maximize instructional time and ensure student safety. This includes coordinating arrival, dismissal, meals, and class timetables and transitions.
  • Collaborate with school leadership to manage Teachers and school site operational staff, including facilitating termly and final evaluations.
  • Maintain a regular schedule of Class observations and observation review meetings to ensure that tutors successfully plan instruction, execute instruction, and implement the Schools culture and behaviour management techniques.
  • Facilitate an assessment and data analysis cycle that allows tutors to analyse student performance, identify areas for targeted instruction, and design mini-lessons for small-group tutoring.
  •  Nurture a high-achieving work environment where staff feel genuinely valued and supported.
  • Promote the vision and mission of our School to staff, students, families, and the greater community.

Required Skills or Experience

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Experience
  •        A Degree or Master in Education
    • A minimum of certification A in teaching.
    • At least five years of exemplary classroom instruction
    • Experience in school leadership or management.
