Job Description

Our client, an independent corporate finance, business support, tax and legal consultancy services company is looking to engage an ambitious young lawyer as a JUNIOR LAWYER

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support with the organization of monthly events Contribute to newsletters
  • Attend meetings with clients in Ghana or abroad or conferences in Ghana or abroad
  • Work on the legal and tax aspects of our fundraising projects (review of term-sheets, projects’ structuring, negotiation meetings with lenders and/or investors)
  • Complete legal and tax research where necessary, either on Ghana or OHADA law
  • Structuring of our clients’ projects and negotiation of agreements
  • Assist on our clients’ projects, including drafting of legal and tax due diligence reports
  • Draft or critically review contracts
  • Draft memoranda, reports and notes relating to various legal and tax issues
  • Work closely with client's partner law firms in Ghana and abroad

Salary:  Market related

Required Skills or Experience

  • Law Degrees/Ghana School of Law Qualifying and Practicing Certificates
  • 2-3 years’ experience in corporate and tax law
  • Excellent drafting skills
  • Curiosity-The position will imply working on Ghana law but also on foreign laws, particularly laws of Francophone Africa countries
  • Good problem solving and decision making abilities
  • Excellent Time management skills and respect for timelines and deadlines
  • Excellent work capacity and commitment 
  • Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills
  • Fluency in French would be a decisive advantage
