Job Description

  • Reports To:    Chief Operating Officer (alternatively can be level 4 and Report to the CFO or CTO, so role may be a 4/3)

Role Purpose:  

  • To implement and manage the Microsoft Dynamics Navision ERP Systems across the Group of Companies; driving and administering the overall health of the ERP applications.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Group Head of Business Solutions is responsible for the overall health of the Microsoft Dynamics NAV business application.
  • He/she is responsible for the overall business systems selection and design, application of all business systems, provision of corporate business systems training and maintaining business systems and standards as well as reporting on all business systems to the Chief Executive Officer of the Group.

Strategy and Policy Development

  • Plan, develop and monitor the implementation of business systems strategies to build and enhance Groups business operations and processes.
  • Provide input and direction in the formulation of business solutions policies and procedures and ensure compliance with and consistency in their interpretation and implementation.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of business solutions policies and practices.
  • Provide Group wide training and other services related to business systems and processes.
  • Ensure ERP business systems and process are aligned and updated on a periodic basis.
  • Work with software providers to ensure all businesses are upgraded and function at optimum efficiency.
  • Advise management on new business solutions trends and related business initiatives.

Financial Reporting, Accounting and Business systems process development and realignment.

  • Work with functional areas such as Finance, Human Resource, Payroll, Procurement, Fleet, Sales & Marketing etc. to ensure all business processes are properly aligned with best practices.
  • Ensure all business systems and process are updated on a periodic basis.
  • Contribute towards the implementation and maintenance of internal financial controls.  
  • Contributing to the improvement of the overall control environment of Group and its Subsidiaries
  • Liaise with functions areas to ensure business processes are properly documents.
  • Provide business systems training to new hires and ensure regular and refresher trainings are provided to all users.

Monitoring standards

  • Lead all business solutions related investigations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Responsible for ensuring that business solutions standards within the Group of Companies are adhered to in line with regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Liaise with legal departments and other functional areas in the development of Service Level Agreements and monitor Service Providers to ensure high system availability and support.

Information and Reporting

  • Preparation and submission of monthly/periodic reports on issues relating to business solutions.
  • Provide direction and support other departments in their data management and reporting systems.

Financial Management

  • Responsible for the preparation, implementation and monitoring the annual budget for the business solutions Department.

Employee Performance and Development

  • Responsible for ensuring that all staff are adequately trained to effectively use business systems of the group.
  • Conduct performance appraisal and provide input for career development and recommend performance incentives for subordinate staff.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate training for subordinate staff members.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Persons with strong business and process aptitude, knowledge and practicable experience of at least 15 years in accounting and business applications and development and have a professional Accounting and business certification such as CPA, ACCA, CA etc. will be preferred for this position.
  • Must have strong theoretical and hand-on understanding of business process workflows and demonstrate practical understanding of how integrated processes and systems operate.
  • Minimum of Master degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems with emphasis on accounting and financial service or related field plus at least 10 years must be in senior management position with emphasis on developing business systems and processes.

  • Must have deeper understanding accounting, payroll, HR, and other business processes and controls.
  • Must be abreast with business and accounting system development trends
