CHANNEL MANAGER- FMCG BACKGROUND (MINI SUPERMARKET AND GROCERY SHOP DIVISION)

Our client a full-service distributor of various products internationally and locally is looking for a dynamic individual for the position of a Channel Manager to help with their operations in Ghana.

Role Profile

The Successful candidate will be responsible for winning, maintaining, and expanding relationships with assigned channel partners and also be responsible for achieving sales and profitability.

Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Setup productive, professional partners and enhance relationships with key personnel in assigned channels.
  • Spend majority of working time in the trade with the customers through training developing and selling.
  • Ensure execution of strategies and plans in the trade and also ensure the overall growth of your channel
  • Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payments of goods
  • Build strong channels and visibility of our brands
  • Develop and implement channel sales/marketing plans with the involvement of other department, including support, service and management resources in order to meet partner expectations.
  • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic goals in assigned channels.
  • Serve as the partner’s single point of contact and address any issues or complaints raised by the partner.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities/ channel partners and ensure its growth and sustainability.
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates partner needs on an ongoing basis
  • Prepare weekly and monthly report to Management on channel activities
  • Ensure availability and visibility of products in partner’s store.
  • Develop business to business channels
  • Develop and implement a channel development plan for the organisation and business forecast.

Required Skills or Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing / Sales or   related discipline
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the FMCG industry
  • Must have worked within a similar industry in the same capacity
  • Channel sales experience in a business-to-business sales environment.
  • Must have experience working in multinational environment

Other Information:

The Channel Manager role is about execution of the strategies and plans in the trade and as such you will be measured according to your performance. You are to work effectively to ensure targets are met and also ensure the overall growth of your channel.

You will be expected to hit the ground running by wining, maintaining and expanding relationships with assigned channel partners.
