Job Description

Our client a full-service distributor of various products internationally and locally is looking for a dynamic individual for the position of a Brands Manager to help with their operations in Ghana.

Role Profile

The Successful candidate will be responsible for driving the growth of the brand within the organisation and delivering innovative marketing campaign.  He/ She will support the national Sales manager.

Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Interacting and executing plans of the brand owner or manufacturer in the local market
  • Responsible for negotiating, spending and managing approved budgets
  • Spend majority of working time in the trade and ensure top execution of approved plans
  • Monitoring and measuring brand performance to take corrective actions for improvement.
  • Working closely with the sales teams to provide and implement solutions to challenges.
  • Developing brand strategy and ensuring all aspects of the product or companies marketing activities align with the objectives and goals of the brand.
  • Creating an enduring brand message that results in increased sales, brand loyalty and improving market share.
  • Analyzing the brand and current strategy and highlighting areas of weaknesses or conflicting messages.
  • Take brand ownership and provide the vision, mission, goals and strategies to match up to it.
  • Activating the market with appropriate mix of marketing programs.
  • Developing a strong and effective relationships with external and internal work partners.
  • Building brands aligned to regional strategy including brand and price positioning.
  • Developing and sustaining strong working relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Managing external agencies and ensuring marketing budgets are met.
  • Seek out new marketing opportunities that fit with the brand and maximising all opportunities for growth.
  • Developing high quality and effective marketing materials that align correctly with the overall brand strategy
  • Plan, develop and direct marketing efforts for a particular brand or product

Required Skills or Experience

  • A Master degree in Marketing or   related discipline
  • 5-6 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Must have worked within a similar industry in the same capacity
  • Must have experience working in multinational environment

  • Strong project management skills.
  • Brand ambassador skills and knowledge.
  • Computer literacy – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and outlook.
  • Confident and public speaking skills
  • Sound presentation skills and time management
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong research and analytical skills
