Job Description

Time span: 3months – 1 year

Mission/ Core purpose of the Job 
Provide assistance to

  • Minimise and mitigate legal risk,
  • Advise and negotiate commercial legal transactions within MTN and outside MTN
  • Ensure corporate governance, compliance, 
  • Provide guidance and advice to operations in commercial legal activities/transactions requiring MTN input - drafting, structuring, 
  • Review practices, procedures, policies and business to ensure that these in accordance with the laws of Ghana.

Key Tasks 

  • Draft and implement legal agreements and provide legal support to company projects this is inclusive of contract review and  end to end management of  contracts
  • Provide  administrative support to company secretarial services
  • Research applicable laws and provide recommendations on the legal consequences of business initiatives and decisions and highlight attendant risks.
  • Facilitate timely responses to internal stakeholders.
  • Support in the Implementation and management of policies and procedures
  • Proactive  Legislative watch – This involves reviewing new legislation or bills to identify how it affects the Company
  • Legal report generation, review and analysis
  • Litigation management and Court attendance
  • Any other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time

Required Skills or Experience

  • Degree in Law with qualifying certificate in law 
  • 1 year working experience in a legal unit. 
  • Experience must include exposure and direct participation in contract drafting and reviewing, court attendance
  • Telco Experience an advantage
